Diverticulitis

These are sacs in the digestive tract. They happen when weak spots in the bowel wal are pushed out of their normal place. Normally, they will not cause any problems. But when they are infected or blocked, they can cause bleeding. Surgery is needed when complications arise from this condition.

Colitis

Colitis is an inflammation of the colon. There are many kinds of colitis. Some of the have known causes while others are a little bit harder to explain. Emergence of the disease is probably affected by diet and genetic factors. Symptoms of colitis are diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and cramps. They are often treated by medicines or a change in diet.
