Easy Lifestyle Changes for Colon Health

When I read that colon cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, I became concerned with the state of colon. Colon health is now one of my top priorities.

There are many ways for me to make sure that the health of my colon is at its best. One is to always be certain that I pass bowel regularly and with ease. I do this by eating food rich in fiber and drinking at least 6 glasses of water every day. I now avoid refined foods as well. I stick to the aisles in the supermarket that has whole grains and unrefined ingredients. I have also stopped buying pre-packed snacks. I eat fruits or nuts instead. While eating, I also chew my food well and eat slowly. If I do this, my intestines will not have a hard time digesting the food I eat.

Another great way that I keep my colon healthy is by taking probiotic supplements every day. Priobiotics are friendly bacteria that live in your gut. They help keep the balance of bacteria in your intestines. I personally think that they work because ever since I started taking probiotic supplements, my bowel movement has been regular.

I also exercise whenever I can. Exercising relieves stress, which leads to digestive troubles and other health problem.
