Aloe Vera For Digestion

Most of us are familiar with Aloe Vera but not in terms of being a potent aid to digestion. We know it to be soothing for sunburns and minor scrapes and cuts. Many of us keep a plant growing somewhere near out kitchen in case we get burned while cooking. But Aloe Vera has been used for many, many centuries as an aid to digestion and a remedy for gastrointestinal ailments.

For many years people have been taking Aloe Vera as a tonic for acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcers, Crohn’s disease, among other diseases and ailments related to digestion and problems in the gastrointestinal system.  Most recently, research and science has begun to understand what people have known for a very long time. Aloe Vera has amazing healing properties and can offer relief for problems with the digestive system.

Over the past several decades Aloe Vera has been used as an adjunct to weight loss programs. It helps to move digested foods smoothly through the intestines without causing diarrhea as some diet aids do. Also, it seems to promote a feeling of wellness.

Because it is soothing and healing it provides great relief to people suffering from ulcers. It counteracts the painful burning they often deal with. Also, it balances the Ph levels in the digestive tract that relieves over acidic or under acidic stomachs. It is not commonly known that too little acid in the stomach is just as bad, if not worse than too much acid.

Sometimes the best treatments are ones we overlook because they have been there so long, they are too familiar. It is a grave mistake to let the amazing powers of Aloe Vera go to waste.
