Bulimics often misuse laxatives diuretics, diet pills and enemas in an attempt to purge the body of calories. Mood swings, weak muscles, fatigue, tooth decay, hair loss, kidney and liver problems etc accompany this disorder.

Binge Eating
This disorder is very much like bulimia but the people who binge do not purge the body of the calories they consume. They just tend to eat in an attempt to comfort themselves or block out feelings of guilt, stress or low self esteem. These people tend to be overweight and suffer from problems like low libido, menstrual irregularities, heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes etc.

Compulsive Overeating
This happens when emotions tend to rule eating patterns. This habit is seen mainly in those who are dealing with difficult situations like sex abuse, depression and so on. Some people diet after they have become overweight and the failure to lose weight results in feelings of guilt and shame
