IBS: Functional Disease of the Colon

One of the functional diseases of the colon is Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS. IBS is characterized by diarrhea or constipation or an alternate of both, chronic abdominal pain, bloating, and discomfort. The causes of IBS are unknown.
