1 Day Colon Cleanse

A single day colon cleanse is a good option for those who have never done a cleanse before. It can serve as a trial run to see if the benefits are worth the efforts and can also give a heads up about the issues you are likely to face during the actual cleanse. If you are a beginner who is trying a colon cleanse for the first time, a 1 day cleanse can help you ease into it. The 1 day colon cleanse consists of two phases – the preparation phase and the cleansing phase.

Preparation Phase

Even though the actual cleanse lasts only for a day, you need to start preparing for it a few days in advance. First of all, it is better to schedule the actual cleanse for the weekend or a holiday when you don’t have to worry about your proximity to the bathroom. After deciding on the date, begin your preparation by gradually eliminating processed and junk food from your diet. Eat only fruits and vegetables the day before the cleanse. Also, stock your pantry with the ingredients required for the cleanse a day in advance.

Cleansing Phase

This phase depends on the type of cleanse you have chosen. Most people choose the Master Cleanse for this phase, due to its simplicity and cost effectiveness. You can choose some other program if you wish, but it is better to stick to a liquid diet program. On the day of the actual cleanse, get up early and prepare the lemonade or juice or any other beverage that is recommended by the program. Start your day by drinking a glass of this beverage. Continue drinking it through the day according to the instructions. Do not forget to drink plenty of water and to take the supplements recommended by the program. Visit the bathroom whenever you need to. Continue eating light for a day or two after the cleanse to avoid shocking your body. You should do this 1 day cleanse a few times with gaps in between, before attempting a more intensive colon cleanse.
